Foreign domains are more closely tied to the local market than, for example, the global .com. If your goal is to sell or serve customers in this region, a region-specific extension will give you a competitive advantage, provided you choose the right extension. Below you'll find 21 domains available for registration, each with detailed registration processes and requirements.

.au (Australia) - available only to Australian citizens, permanent residents with an appropriate visa, companies and non-governmental organizations registered in Australia, and foreign entities holding an Australian trademark. For Australian entities, the domain name should match the company name (or its abbreviation or acronym) or the name of the registrant's product or service. If the registration is based on a trademark for a foreign entity, both registered and pending trademarks are accepted, and the domain must match the trademark or its abbreviation or acronym. We do not provide a local contact service for .au; registrants must meet these requirements themselves. The com.au extension is also available.
.nz (New Zealand) - available to both individuals and companies from any country, without the local presence requirement. The .co.nz extension is also available.
.to (Tonga) - registration usually takes one business day. The shortest possible registration period is 2 years. The .to domain is perfect for so-called domain hacks, where the name and the "to" ending together form a single phrase (phrase), e.g., "give.to." On our blog, you'll find examples of unusual uses for this domain. The most natural approach is calls to action and short campaign slogans. Instead of a long URL, create a simple message like "check it out," "buy it," "go to it," or "see it" and direct it to a landing page. This works especially well in campaigns where users arrive from an ad or sponsored link anyway.
.mp (Northern Mariana Islands) – available to individuals and companies from any country.
.cc (Cocos (Keeling) Islands) – the national extension of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. In practice, anyone can register it, without any country or place of business restrictions. Due to its short and distinctive ending, it is sometimes chosen as an alternative to already-used names in other extensions or for projects that want to play on the "cc" abbreviation.
.pw (Palau) - Palau's national extension, since March 2013, anyone can register it, without requiring local presence.
.com.sb (Solomon Islands) - the registry allows registrants from any country, and .com.sb is one of the available second-level domains.
.ws (Samoan Islands) - often chosen by international websites, especially news outlets. The abbreviation "ws" is sometimes read as website (i.e. simply www page).
.wf (Wallis and Futuna) - since December 6, 2011, .wf domains can be registered by individuals and companies based in any European Union country, so entities from Poland also have access. Registration for an individual requires additional country and date of birth.
.co.ck (Cook Islands) - only third-level domains with the extensions co.ck, org.ck, and net.ck are available. They can also be registered by entities outside the Cook Islands, without the need for a local office and at no additional cost.
In the language of offers, everything is often called a "transfer," but there is a fundamental difference between these concepts. Transfer is a change of registrar (domain service provider), the company that acts as an intermediary between the client and the domain registry. At Domeny.tv, the transfer process from another registrar is completed in the customer panel. Domain assignment is a change of its subscriber, transferring the rights to it to another company or individual.
What are the requirements for registering domains in Australia?
To register a domain with the .au extension, you must meet a few requirements:
Domain transfers don't extend the validity period, is this normal?
Yes, this happens with some foreign domain registries. Domeny.tv explicitly states for .au and .com.au that transfers don't extend the validity period of the domain.
What is the difference between a domain transfer and an assignment?
A transfer is a transfer of management to another registrar (the domain manager changes), while an assignment is a change of registrant, sometimes not precisely named the owner (the "right holder" changes).
What should you prepare before registering an Australian domain?
First and foremost, the basis for authorization, the company's or individual's residency in this country, or alternatively, trademark registration in Australia.
Where can I check the prices and requirements for specific extensions?
The easiest way is to look at the specific extension cards and the Domeny.tv price list, where you'll find a summary of fees and shortened rules for a given domain name.
Does Domeny.tv show who the domain registrant is?
On the "Australia and Oceania" region page, Domeny.tv declares the ability to check the details of current domain registrants in the WHOIS database of a given extension, within the scope of available data.
